Sunday night, after our drive from the armadillo palce in houston,
we headed to the 12-26 man jam at billy bob's
care of 99.5, the "m'Fn" wolf.

...and of course, it was packed...one might of called it a hoot nanny.
after the show everyone headed to the white elephant for a night cap.

All we can really say is, God bless Fort Worth.

we had loads of fun this past weekend...
in okc we had a pretty decent crowd for our first time there. our friday, white elephant gig was a classic as always. thanks to all of our friends that came out that night. there was a lot of great talent in town, and we were very grateful to all that decided to spend some of their evening with us. after the white elephant we rushed over to the horseman and woody's to visit with cooder graw and el groupo stoney larue. we made it out alive after a late night and on to tyler. rick's...yes rick's. to be frank, the owner decided to play hard ball with us and we won't be playing there again. too expensive. too bad. the mike mancy band will not be discouraged by "the man".

The Mike Mancy Band would like to thank all of our friends that came out to our Horseman and Farmfest shows this past weekend. There was some serious road tripping going on this past weekend and we are extremely grateful.

Thanks to everyone at the 95.9 the Ranch in Ft. Worth for the radio love. Even the great Tom Bigbee came to the show. The Ranch is a kick ass radio station that actually plays Texas/Red Dirt music...No, I'm serious. check em out! 959theranch.com.

On Saturday we took part in a great party...Farm Fest 2005, which is organized by the band, Texas Jack. Those guys really know how to throw a party. Kelly Test (drums) worked double duty playing a blistering set with the Mancy band only to walk off stage...kiss his wife, take a sip something cold and do it again, this time to play a reunion show with old friends Cooder Graw. It was a wild night ending with the Cooder bus getting seriously sunk into the fertile farm ground as it tried to leave. Gyro just cranked the bus off and the party continued. They had to wait until the morning to get some heavy towing equipment to move the huge tour bus. Hope they made it out.

Also, this past Sunday, the Mancy band was the featured artist on the syndicated, Official Texas Countdown with Chuck Taylor. The band talked and played a couple of tunes in the studio. Thanks Chuck. texascountdown.com

Well we are almost out of August and into September. That's a good thing...look at all of our gigs in September. It will be a great month where we can do what we love. We aren't really a practicing band, we are a performing band. We had bags of fun at the River Road Icehouse. Thanks to Ken for all of the advertising and going that extra mile. We had a good crowd and good clean fun. Go to the River Road Icehouse and push off into the river and enjoy a cold beverage on a hot day one more time before summer is gone. How about in September?

Wow!! Mike and I had one HELL of a night last night! Went downtown to catch Mermaid Purse at the Red Eyed Fly, really great band. If you ever have a chance, go check them out. We paid a five dollar cover to see about five bands, that just goes to show it's hard to make it in the rock biz no matter how good you are. The show rocked balls and we started our night, beer after beer got some good curls in. My right arm is huge today, I'll show the ladies later, HA HA. just kidding Britton. After the show we met up with a buddy of Mike's and headed down to the heart of party nation. Spent a little time at the, the, uh, aw damn I can't remember but anyhooooo! Crap! Had a great time and may have had a couple of freaking jager bombs! You no how we do it! Crazy! Crazy! Crazy! Thanks Dan, that was a bad ass time. Can't wait to do it again. I would tell you the crazy stunts we pulled but,,,,,, your just going to have to come down and party! Bring your video camra if you think you can handle the carnage!!!

OK! If you have ever been to Austin you know that on Sunday-Wednesday there is a drink special extravaganza! $1.00 well drinks and beers.... ok so if you do the math you can do yourself in like Dudley Moore for about $10 bucks... Well, we tried our luck on Tuesday night... Coby, Earl, Sarah (Merchandise Designer and good friend, sarahdodds.com) and myself spent a grand total of $140 between the 4 of us, now I know what you are thinking and you are probably right, no you are right but we had a great time.... Well that's what our neighbor told us... Here it goes, Coby fell out of my passenger window onto his cranial region (we just parked). I think he was trying to relive Bo and Luke Duke but forgot we were in a van! Sarah dislocated her knee while we all wrestled in the yard in our apt. complex, thank God she trusted Royce and I to play Dr. and pull it back into socket... Wait, that sounds bad, Royce and I didn't play Dr. with each other.... OK... We climbed about what felt like 10 feet in several different trees... It was probably 3 feet but felt like 10 because Royce couldn't get down, I had to pull him out! Right on! It was only 4AM so I decided I would hit the pool/hot tub to get the grass off of me... oh yeah, bare footed, sliced my foot in 4 places on my foot and bled all the way back home. Didn't realize really how bad it was until I tracked blood throughout the kitchen! Coby gave the refrigerator a nightly karate kick and we went to bed... If anyone who has a really good video camera and wants to spend a ton of time with us we would give these reality shows a run for their money. Until later, the idiots say adios!

Hello Hello,

Well it has been a few days so I thought what the heck, I might as well tell the good people what has been going on. Let's see, where did I leave you hanging last time. Oh! Well we have had some interesting adventures as of late. Last Saturday we played in my hometown, Brownwood Tx. Well, Blanket is actually my hometown but does anybody really know where Blanket is, probaly not. Mike, Coby and I got there a little early and enjoyed some drinks and Big Buck Hunter. Kelly and Royce soon showed up and we got going setting up for the show. I love this place because I grew up with the owners and everyone I know goes to Backroads. We got back to the hotel in time for some rest. Got to the bar about nine and began to drink like kings. Yager bombs all around and keep them coming. If you have ever seen us play thats just how the Mike Mancy Band rolls. Some good friends from Austin made the drive up and hung out with us as well as some friends from Dallas. Nice! Thanks for coming! It turned out to be a really great show with a little over 300 people there. Awesome! Not to mention our bar tab was crazy. That's going to happen when you drink like we do. Love yuh Chad and Cayla. We had some great reviews from the fans and thats always welcome. After the show we had some offers to go to some parties, always a plus to have the Mike Mancy Band at your party!!! We went over to my buddy Mark and Robin's house and hung out for a while, goodtimes! After that we rocketed over to see another buddy of mine Tim who already had the cops come over a few times so we just decided to head back to the old hotel and have a few more drinks. First we had to stop at the food plaza three times just to make sure we had all the important things that was needed. Ear muffs, depends, ice cubes and a can of corn. Just kidding! We headed off to bed only to see the sun in just a few hours.
Royce decided to spend the week with us down here in beautiful Austin. Good to have him down. Sunday night we played in Houston at a place called Reno's. Momma gave us some great food and some more good times. Great acoustic show with Royce, Mike and Coby. The next day we headed down to the beach and caught some waves. We now know how to get the entire beaches attention. Apparently when you go out too far, you get in some trouble. The beach patrol and a life guard was headed our direction with twirling lights and crap. The life guard that swam out there told Mike that they could'nt see us and we had to get closer to shore. If they couldn't see us how the heck did they see us then. I don't know. After catching some hermit craps and looking for sharks teeth we decided to go to a few surf shops. Good stuff.
Last night we got to play at Saengerhalle for the back porch Wednesday show. It was a good crowd that got rowdy. We had a few special guest Randy Rogers, Frank Neville, you know the regulars at Mike Mancy Band shows... Randy got up and play 2 songs that he had just finished. They were great! Sorry if you weren't there to see it! Well after that we had a few more drinks, talked about the buzz and then headed home. Good stuff! I could tell you the really good stuff but your just going to have to come to a show and find out what happens behind the scene's. Thanks to everyone at Backroads, Reno's and Sangerhalle. Also I would like to thank Greg at the Ocean Grill on the sea wall in Galveston for the incredible lunch, go check it out.
I'm pretty happy I get to go see the Mermaid Purse friday at the Red Eyed Fly here in Austin; great band check them out. We will talk to yall later, remember to always drink more than what you can pay for cause it's the happiness that lasts not the credit card bill. Peace out and Be careful!!!!

Hello Hello!

Well it has been a very relaxing much needed week off for the Mike Mancy Band. This past few days we had the pleasure to relax and have some good band time to set back and take in all the madness that has taken place the's past few month's. First I would like to thank the Tompkin's for their kindness in letting us use their place for refuge. We headed out a little piece north of Fort Worth to beautiful Lake Nacona. It started out as a reharsel progect and ended up as a get some time to become a band type thing. We found out who each other were and tightened our bond as brother's. This was a very peaceful place with hardly any people to interfere.
We had the best time ever with a couple of boose and some good time's that we are never to forget. Like, uh, this one time when I was catching some bate with Royce that was stained into my mind but was awesome. Mike had some good time's in the middle of the lake on a float, or should I say someone from the shore might have seen the moon rise during the day from anther point of view. Damn nudest!!!! HA! HA!
We also had the Mike Mancy Band Games. Coby thought he was a stud on the tube until he got tossed with in a minute of a ride, terrible. All though he won the most fish caught it was a very worthy effort. He did however catch a nich catfish that was impressive. It could not match up to the power of my monster bass that I landed later in the competion. Mike came in second with the most fish. Nothing to exciting though.
I wish I could tell yall that we reharsed and got a ton of stuff done,
but we really did what was needed and relaxed!
That was the broke down part of what happen, but you should come to the show's and get the whole story from us. If I told you the whole kitten kabuddle it would not be as funny.
Thanks Corbin and all the awesome folks at Coor's for having Mike and I out with yall last night. We had a great time and hope to do it again soon. If any of this spelling, wording or mumbo jumbo is wrong just remember that it's because of the good people at Coor's. Thank's Corbin!

Coby is here at my apartment. He decided to stay in Dallas, even though the devil lives in Dallas…that’s a fact… He played last night with his pop, Rusty Wier at Love & War in Plano. I was in attendance at show and it was great as always. Quite a rain storm rolled through about the time the band was setting up and some of Coby’s effects pedals are still not working today. Let’s have a moment of silence for Coby’s two brave effect pedals…may they find peace.

We have scheduled a band rehearsal tomorrow at a secret undisclosed location somewhere in the metroplex, with the aim to develop some brand new originals. Royce is a little under the weather but should recover after getting a horse shot from the doctor today.

Well hello everybody!

I just wanted to let y'all know what was going on with us!

The new Texas Music Magazine "Mavrik Magazine" launched at our show at Suede on July 15th, and the first issue hit the streets on Wednesday, July 20th. Our buddy Stoney is on the cover and we are in it as well. It is a great magazine that gives tour dates, album info, stories from the road, amazing photos, and behind the scenes junk! Pick one up, you will dig it!

We have been approached by "Regency", the Van conversion company to be on thier posters for a new angle of their advertising. They say we will be in several states over the next few months. We will keep you updated on the progress and there will soon be a link on our website for Regency... which brings me to....

Our new website is being designed as we speak! It will have streaming video, new pics, songs, all kinds of good shit, so please keep checking in with us and keep sending us pics from our shows (especially friends pics)and we will put them on!

I have been working on a "letter to Jefe" that will appear on the new website as well. It has been hard for me to put it together but I want it to go on the new site. We are working on a concert in memory of Jefe including, Cooder Graw, Tommy Alverson, Micky and the Motorcars, Reckless Kelly, Randy Rogers Band, Hayes Carl, Michael Padget, Mike Mancy Band and others. We are trying to get the details on a venue in Ft. Worth and time... a Sunday, probably early fall; shooting for September.

"The Ranch" the movie from director/writer Grady Moore is making its way through the film festivals this summer. Our single "Let it Roll" is in the movie and we are hoping the best for Grady on this great project. We will have clips of the movie on our new website as well.

We have new merchandise!!!!!! Coming soon!!! We have a new logo, new designs and they kick ass if I must say so myself! Thanks to Sarah Dodds and her amazing talents! well, I have finally seen the great LA. Heather is playing with the Henry Mancini Institute (http://manciniinstitute.com) here in Los Angeles for one month beginning tomorrow. We started driving out here Monday. Stopped in Albuquerque, NM, then to Las Vegas where we stayed in a sweet suite (free upgrade) at the Stardust, and in to LA yesterday. We stayed the night at my good friend Mike Bary's place and went to the whisky a go-go last night for some night life. I have never been to LA or even California. There sure are alot of people packed into one area. We are enjoying or visit. I am flying back to Dallas tonight and leaving Heather to defend for herself. Just thought I would check in since no one else in the band seems to have any time to write any news. I would love to see some ball busting in the comment section. I just drove to LA...that's all. I am sure you guys are too busy with Tiger Wood's golf and the lakehouse. BALL BUSTING GOOD TIME. I know they are glad to have me in the band.

Tomorrow will be a fun day. We are playing at 8.0 in downtown Ft. Worth with Cooder Graw. I am looking forward to seeing my old friends again and having a good ol' Ft. Worth time. The Mancy band will be on 95.9 the ranch in Ft. Worth at 5:30pm, Wednesday. At least that is what we have heard. Had dinner with my good friend Scooter Heath last night. Scooter was the bad ass tattooed bass player for Bleu Edmondson for many years with me and Coby. Seems like I know a couple of bad ass tattooed bass players...at least two. He is now a CPA working in corporate Dallas and teaching adjunctly at SMU this summer. Great to catch up with my good friend. He says hello to everyone and promises to come to a Mancy Band gig soon.

Hey y'all Thanks for a great weekend!!!! To begin, thanks for coming out to the White Elephant Saloon in Ft. Worth... It was at capacity (one in one out) for 3.5 hours!!!! Great night with good friends. Thanks to the Kyle Bennet Band for coming out to open up for us.

Sunday Coby, Kelly, Heather and I headed down to New Braunfels to float the river and hang out with some friends at the River Road Icehouse. Despite the 30 minute tropical freakin storm that blew through during Cory Morrow's show it was a great night! Patrick Davis, Stoney Larue with Jeremy Watkins and Cory, all put on great shows! Oh, I can't leave out my buddy Darren Kozelski who sang a couple of great tunes also! Coby and I decided to stay up later than everyone else but I think it was a toss up between the Boland's, Mel, Laura and Randy Rogers and us... either way we were close to succeeding in our mission.

Monday we made a trip down the Guad! Thanks so much to Big Steve and the Lone Star Float House for showing us the way! Coby, Kelly, Heather and I decided on the tubes instead of the boat thinking the 2 hour float would be fine to have a tube.... when we got in, we never knew that it would be a 7.5 hour frozen hell ride that pretty much destroyed any chance in reproduction for the future mancy family!!! It was a kick ass time and we drank lots of beer and had fun making a holes out of ourselves as always! Hope to see y'all this Friday at Saengerhalle or Adair's in Dallas.....

Well............ I got a cat yesterday. I didn't really plan on anything like that happening but it kind of fell into place. I'm more of a dog person but don't mind cats. I was coming back from the lake house pulling my sea doo and on the outskirts of Bowie, Tx on highway 59, a little black kitten walked across my lane. I slammed on my breaks and the kitten just sat there looking up at me. I turned my hazards on, jumped out of the car, grabbed it, and took it to the side of the road. It kept on following me back to the car so for some reason, the look on the cat's face and Dusty's (Mosely) convincing made it easy for me to take it home. After a few opinions from friends with kittens it has been concluded that it's only about 4 maybe 5 weeks old and we're thinking it's a boy. I wasn't kidding around when i said it was little. I'm not sure if I'm gonna keep it or let my sister have it. I've only had it a day but it's turning out to be a cool cat. It likes to sleep a lot more than me so we get a long great. I had a feeling we'd get a long when he fell asleep purring while we were listening to various texas country artists on the way home. After many hours of deliberation I still haven't decided on a name. I'm thinking about naming him Bowie. I still don't know, so if you have any suggestions please let me know. Also, if you have any advice about taking care of a little kitten, that would also be appreciated. Rock N Roll is only one day away and I can't wait! Peace, Royce Tompkins

What's up yall? Last night was a good night at Overtime. The drinks were cheap and the music was great. For those of you who missed it last night, it was a rowdy time. I'm not going to name names but someone broke the door to the patio. When i say "broke" i mean the glass was on the ground and so was the door. lol Don't worry, it was all in a good time. They had it put back up in no time and the glass swept up. It's always fun sharing the stage with Michael and Dusty and hope to do it again soon. I will let yall know in advance next time when it happens. I need to throw a plug in for Whataburger. Thanks for the hook up on free food last night from "G" Money in the drive thru.

I started this morning off right after a late night with a bloody mary. Gotta love being balanced out. lol I'm headed to the lake house today to hang out tonight and will be back tomorrow. I'm gonna see how much trouble I can get into in one night. Good times, good times.

Sunday night was a blast at Billy Bob's! The Straglers were awesome of course. I got to meet some cool people and listen to good music. Adairs was nothing but Rock N Roll. Thank you everyone that hung out with us. Hope it wasn't too hard to get up on Monday morning. In the words of Jason Boland...."A rough night for me makes a hell of a day." I'll see yall this Saturday in my hometown! Peace.

We sure had a good weekend. Thursday, me and Royce drove down to Austin to meet the rest of the guys to rehearse and take pictures. We took pictures out at Poodie's Hilltop in Spicewood, Texas. I love that bar. Poodie (Willie Nelson's stage manager) was actually there. I think we got some pictures that will work. Hopefully we will be able to get them on the website soon. Friday we opened the show for Charlie Robison at Midnight Rodeo in Austin. We played a high energy show...it was fun letting the throttle out...whatever that means. Saturday we rehearsed and worked on two brand new songs. Sunday we were lucky enough to be invited by Justin Frizzell of 99.5 the wolf's front porch show, and Jason Boland and the Stragglers to play two songs on the air. Heather said that it sounded good. Thanks to Justin and the Stragglers for their kindness and invitation. After the radio show we headed to Adair's Saloon to play a late night Sunday show. Good to play Adairs again...I love that place. The night ended with all the regular Adair's tomfollery. So in other words...I am tired today. Hope to see you at a show soon.

What's up y'all????

Well, this weekend the plans have once again changed!!!!! Sorry but we have been changing plans continually to adjust to our new surroundings.... This Friday remains the same.... we are still playing at Midnight Rodeo in Austin with Charlie Robison. Sunday, we have been advised that we are playing at Billy Bob's in Ft. Worth with our friends Jason Boland and the Stragglers for the 99.5FM The Wolf's, Front Porch Show from 6PM-8PM! Then after the show we are headed over to Dallas to play a full band show at Adair's! Good times at Adair's in Deep Ellum on a "Stoned Slow Rugged Sunday Evening, after a good time Saturday Night!!!!" (Rusty Wier).

We have a few new songs down ready to go into the studio hopefully sooner than later. Listen to 99.5FM The Front Porch Show on Sunday night to hear us play "Torn" live, along with a few others. Hope to see y'all out on Sunday night!

Happy Birthday to Rusty again! Last night was another good night in Austin Texas! Coby's 7th personality came out again last night! It is by the way, my favorite of his 7 personalities.

We are really busy trying to get new music written for the next CD hopefully coming out before the new year. We are also partaking in several effin beverages to get better aquainted with each other especially with my new roomates Coby and Earl. Poker Taco Monday and Sushi Saki Tuesday is in full effect! It's nice to be back in Austin!

I set up this blogger so we can get everyone in the band to periodically check in with you...our good friends. We had a rehearsal late last night in Mansfield. Thanks to Barry for the rehearsal space, and thanks to the Horseman Club for the rehearsal space Monday. On Monday, we worked on writing new material. Had some great ideas, but eventually hit road blocks. We will try again soon. Tuesday night we rehearsed from 10ish pm - 2am and decided to learn the Rusty Wier song, "Stoned, Slow, Rugged." Man, it's a rocking tune and great lyrics. I hope we can do it justice. That should get us started. Thanks for checking in. -kt
